Text a ride. We send the car.

Text where you are and where you're going. You get a price to confirm, then the driver's name, car and plate, and a link to follow the car. No app or account needed.

Can you pick me up at 123 Main St tomorrow at 7 for the airport?
Is that Thu Oct 22, 7:00 AM or Thu Oct 22, 7:00 PM? Reply 1 or 2.

This box runs the same message reader a company's number uses. It does not send texts, book rides or show prices.

Driving with a company on El Amigo

After the rider replies YES

Example texts from a fictional company. Each one goes out only after the step it describes has actually happened.

  1. Booked

Sent when the booking is saved. It does not promise a driver yet.

  2. Driver accepted

Sent when a driver accepts. The link shows how old the last location update is.

  3. At pickup

Sent when the driver marks arrival near the pickup point.

  4. Trip ends

The trip is not marked paid until the driver records the cash.

The dispatch board

See the dispatch software
El Amigo dispatch board showing active trips, drivers on a map and open alerts
Text conversations in the same place as trips
Take over any conversation when a rider needs a person; the assistant pauses until you hand it back.
Why each driver got the offer
Every dispatch decision keeps the candidates, their road ETAs and the reason one was chosen.
Problems surface on their own
Stale driver locations, unanswered offers, failed texts and unassigned scheduled rides appear as alerts.
Money you can reconcile
Cash collected, Zelle claims waiting for a bank check, and corrections with reasons, per trip.

Plainly

No app required for riders

A regular text message is enough. The app and website are there for people who prefer them.

Cash and Zelle first

Cards are optional and each company decides. A Zelle payment counts only after the company sees it in its bank account.

Companies stay independent

El Amigo does not move riders between companies or set fares. Each company keeps its own customers and drivers.

Fair offers for drivers

The closest driver by road time usually gets the offer; among drivers who are about equally close, the one who has waited longest goes first.

A person is always reachable

Reply AGENT to any company number and the conversation goes to its staff.

What we do not claim

Pickup times depend on drivers being available. Scheduled rides are confirmed when a driver accepts, and we say so in the texts.
